Action Engineering Ltd are the South Island agents for The TRAM (Total Restraint Access Module). It is a moveable total restraint device specifically designed to enable personnel to safely move from the access ladder to the tanker top and then along the top of the tanker to any point along its length. It also provides the user with a solid anchor and hand-hold that moves with them where ever they go. The TRAM Safety System is designed so that the user is firmly attached to the unit at all times and is prevented from falling in the event of a slip or trip. It can take over 600kg of force.
The TRAM can be easily retrofitted on any existing road tanker, ISO tank, or static tank. It is lightweight and simple to fit, taking just a few hours to install completely. The system an easy to fit and very comfortable restraint belt that ensures that the user can perform their work without interference and with the full confidence a full restraint system provides. Significantly the TRAM is a stand alone system that operates independently of air or electrical systems.
Action Engineering Ltd are presently servicing the Tram Systems fitted to Holcim Cement carriers. We will use the experience gained to assist other transport operators who have similar requirements, and wish to significantly improve the safety of their operating staff.
